The universe of NIUKU
Founded by Kadiata Diallo, the NIUKU brand was born from a deep desire to create fashion that connects worlds. Since its inception in 2013, NIUKU has established itself as a unique voice in the world of ready-to-wear, offering unisex, minimalist, and mixed-race collections. Inspired by its African origins, Japanese influences, and nomadic outlook on the world, NIUKU develops a wardrobe that blends urban aesthetics, cultural heritage, and contemporary experimentation.
NIUKU advocates gender-neutral fashion, produced in limited series, between Senegal and Mauritania, with particular attention paid to cut, materials, and local craftsmanship.
Each piece is designed as an extension of identity, an exploration of the balance between strength and softness, tradition and modernity, anchoring and movement.

The designer
Kadiata Diallo is a Mauritanian-Senegalese designer with a free and intuitive path. Born in Nouakchott, she grew up between several cultures, which early on nourished her perspective on identity, difference, and hybridity. Self-taught, she founded the NIUKU brand in 2013 with the ambition of offering fashion that is contemporary, committed, and beyond gender norms.
Through her creations, Kadiata explores a refined aesthetic language, where ample volumes, raw materials, and subtle details reflect a search for balance between heritage and modernity, tradition and experimentation. Inspired by her African roots and her attraction to Japanese codes, she imagines a poetic fashion, conceived as a means of personal and spiritual expression.
NIUKU also reflects its commitment to sustainable fashion, produced between Senegal and Mauritania in limited series, with the aim of preserving a cultural and artisanal dialogue.
